‘Aiburobhat’ loosely translates to Aiburo (bachelor) Bhat (Rice). It is a Bengali ritual celebrating a bachelor's last meal before the wedding. Common among Ghoti families, it involves a grand feast with the bride's favorite dishes, including fish, fried foods, sweets, and doi. The groom or bride is expected to enjoy the meal with close relatives the day before the wedding.

In the Haldi ceremony, relatives apply the paste to specific body parts of the bride and groom – face, arms, hands, knees, and feet – using mango leaves. Despite the mess, adorned in traditional attire, the couple receives blessings as family members sing traditional songs, each taking turns in the ritual cleansing.

Bou Bhat, a post-Bengali wedding ritual, unfolds in a grand banquet called Preetibhoj or Preetibhoja. Hosted by the groom's family, it unites both sides in joy.The bride eats rice cooked in her new household. The groom offers the bride a plate full of rice and other food items. He also offers her a new saree and tells her that from now on he will take the responsibility of her food and clothes. The bride then serves payesh, that iskheer, or ghee-rice to all other members of the family.
